Richard Beynon

  • A Chartered Civil and Marine Engineer specialising in oil and gas pipeline construction projects, having spent 22 years in North Sea construction
  • For ten years until 1999 was Amoco UK's Senior Pipeline Engineer on their North Sea construction projects including CATS, Arkwright and Davy/Bessemer, and was seconded to Amoco Norway for the development of their Valhall facility
  • Prior to Amoco, worked on offshore construction projects for Shell and Conoco
  • Experience in contractual claims, litigation and arbitration in all areas of pipeline and subsea facility construction

Richard Johnstone

  • Over 30 years international oil experience - has worked in upstream and downstream commercial roles in BP, Kuwait National Petroleum Company, Marlin, BNOC and British Gas Exploration and Production
  • Detailed knowledge of drafting and negotiating contracts for oil sales and trading, E&P joint venture agreements and working with JV partners
  • Longstanding expertise in marketing crude oil, NGL's and petroleum products
  • Lectures at conferences and seminars internationally; provides tailor-made training programmes for a wide variety of companies

Alec O'Beirne

  • A former BP Engineer with extensive distribution operations experience, particularly in aviation
  • Experience ranges from terminal design and construction, to terminal management and road tanker distribution
  • Management responsibilities have included plant engineering, vehicle engineering and acquisition, quality assurance, safety, environmental standards, product quality and information systems
  • BP representative on Institute of Petroleum's Marketing Committee and Chairman in 1992-95. Awarded IP Certificate of Appreciation in 2000.
  • Recent consultancy work has covered operations training, asset quality audits and valuations, management reviews and reorganisations

Peter Whitby

  • Chemical engineer with extensive experience of markets in the Former Soviet Union (FSU), where he has been involved in fields as diverse as insurance investigations and lecturing
  • Responsible for the analysis and physical assessment of the suitability and potential of new markets
  • Seasoned negotiator and strategist, with both commercial and technical skills
  • Formerly with BP, working in and developing Indonesian, FSU, European and Australasian markets
  • Has traveled extensively and is well versed in dealing with diverse cultures

David Williams

  • An expert in petroleum products, feedstocks and crude oil supply and trading, commercial tanker issues and the management of these business lines
  • Senior manager in Shell until 2002, where he worked for over 30 years, including nearly 20 years on assignments in Curacao, New York, Houston, Thailand and Japan. Final role was Managing Director, Shell Japan Trading, Tokyo
  • Experienced in managing government interfaces in West Africa, the Middle East and Asian countries

Gordon Davies

  • Over forty years' experience in the natural gas industry.
  • Gordon worked his way up through the engineering and planning ranks of British Gas, becoming Head of Planning before leaving to become an independent consultant in 1995.  
  • His experience in recent years has been expanded through work in high profile projects in such locations as Portugal, Israel and Australia.
  • Specialises in privatisation, regulatory issues, technical matters, organisation structures, market assessment, new business start up, project management and financial evaluation.
  • Gordon has just stepped down from his role as CEO of the Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers and is a Chartered Engineer.

Mark Dickenson

  • An energy markets expert with an excellent trading and origination background in BG and Sempra, Mark focuses especially on the UK, Western and Central European regions.
  • Has consulted for over 25 of the largest energy companies in Europe.
  • Specialities include price risk management, market valuations and analysis, contract negotiations and energy portfolio optimisation.

Peter Biddlestone

  • Around thirty years' experience in the energy industry with Shell, BHP, Texaco and BG, now an independent consultant.
  • A highly experienced international negotiator and manager with excellent commercial and interpersonal skills.
  • Directed the Karachaganak project while with BG E&P; since then his work has included the West Natuna Transport System in SE Asia, the West-East Gas Pipeline in PR China and an LNG project in Equatorial Guinea.
